Chancellor's Message

Chancellor's Message

Welcome to the North Eastern Adventist University (NEAU). It is a God-given honor and privilege for me to serve as the first Chancellor of this wonderful UniversityWe commence again, after an extended and enforced pandemic break with a prayer in our hearts and optimism for a healthy and safe year. Twelve months of this pandemic have challenged us to rise to the occasion of creating community, despite physical separation and isolation. We are now back together again, along with many new people, on our beautiful NEAU campus where we can join in campus life and enjoy being together for an in-person learning experience. I welcome you all.

The new academic year promises new opportunities and whilst the challenges that 2020 thrust upon us have still not disappeared totally, together we collectively commit to facing them with courage, strength, and astuteness. Our mission and commitment are to equip our students for holistic lives of service and education, and we at NEAU are committed to nurturing students to reach their full potential and capability. Together, we bring to life the University's important mission of inspiring and challenging every student to a life of leadership and purpose for the glory of God.

The intention to establish this university is to foster the spirit of equality, ensuring that holistic education is extended to anyone who seeks knowledge and celebrate the strength of unity in diversity. We are committed to providing education par excellence with values and work ethic. This approach will strengthen the foundations in preparing professionals who will be change agents in serving humanity.

In establishing a university in Jowai, Meghalaya, qualitative and affordable education is now accessible to the students of the Northeastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura. The multi-disciplinary study programs offered at NEAU will allow students to study in an environment and culture which are familiar and closer to home.

As an institution based on Adventist values and as educators, motivators, and mentors, the North Eastern Adventist University will nurture and challenge the spirit of its students and guide them on their journey to become nation builders and pro-generators of communal harmony and stewards of this world and the world to come.

We have set out on a long journey. Together we work to promote a campus environment that is reverential, civil, accommodating, and safe. These core values allow us to provide a living and learning environment where we can all pursue our dreams and reach our highest potential. I am confident that the year ahead will be full of rewarding experiences. I look forward to welcoming you to the campus. Thank you for being a special member of our beautiful NEAU Family.

Warm Regards,

Prof. Eliah David Srikakolli, PhD
